sodedang ‘so je jang’
As Nhu often says with a smile, ‘Life is complex enough. Let your cake be a simple pleasure.'”
In the heart of Vietnam, where bustling streets meet quiet alleyways, a small cake shop named ‘Sodedang’ was born. The name, meaning ‘so easy’ in Vietnamese, perfectly encapsulated the founders’ vision: to create cakes that were simple to make, yet beautiful to behold.
Starting as an online boutique in 2020, Sodedang quickly gained a following for its light, airy creations that looked as if they were plucked from a painter’s canvas. Each cake, while easy to make, was a testament to the beauty of simplicity – layers of fluffy sponge embraced by clouds of delicate cream, adorned with fresh, locally-sourced fruits and flowers.
As word spread, so did Sodedang’s offerings. The menu blossomed to include matcha layer cakes that whispered of serene tea gardens, strawberry light cream cakes that captured the essence of sweet summer days, and custom-made creations that turned customers’ dreams into edible art.
Cam often says, “A slice of cake is a piece of joy served on a plate, a sweet reminder that life’s most beautiful moments are often the simplest ones we share.”
